spicy garlic shrimp and crab strudel

Punchy asked me the other day how it was having five pugs?? Well, it's just fine when the pug is a "goodboy." Really, it's no different than having four if they all get along.

Batgirl asked if Hootie went back home with Norman...and yes, I put Hootie in his suitcase earlier in the day so that he would not be forgotten!


Tammy and Ian had dinner her Saturday night when they came to pick up Norman. I used Pioneer Woman's spicy garlic shrimp recipe. I cooked it earlier in the week and tried it to make sure it wouldn't be flop. The test batch was not flavorful enough. When I made it on Saturday, I made it earlier in the day and then put it all in a Zip-loc bag and let it marinate until time to eat. It was flavorful doing it that way.

I also made a crab strudel that I saw the Barefoot Contessa make. I did not try it out first. It was easy to make. The most time consuming thing was picking the shell out of the crab meat. I went through it four times and always seemed like I found another bit every time I touched it. My final thoughts on it was that it was just okay. It didn't seem seasoned or spicy enough to me. Not sure I would make this again.

I peeled and deveined the shrimp and cooked it.

Poured the sauce in really hot pan and stirred it around for a few minutes for it to reduce.

When it all cooled off, I put it in a Zip-loc bag to rest in the fridge for a few hours.

The gas line is in. They are out there this morning finishing up with that. Generator should be here tomorrow. Happy to report they didn't cut my DSL line.

Has anyone seen TAKEN? I think we might try to go see that this week. From all I hear, it's good movie.
