Today, Holly-Bolly is at the vet getting blood work and x-rays of her chest and if those two things come back okay, they are going to put her under anesthesia and clean her teeth and clean out her ears. Last week, I took her in to meet the vet and see about getting some relief for her itching and the doctor wanted to get some baseline things done and saw she had an ear infection and felt like if he could put her under anesthesia that he could clean out the ear really well. AM had a lot of things done for her at the vet in November and some of the things my vet will do are probably the same but I don't mind...just want to get a baseline here to see how she progresses in the future. He found that her feet had a lot of yeast on them and said it was caused by licking a lot. So I give her feet a bath every day with special shampoo and then I have some special wipes that I use on them every day to help with that problem. Then she gets a bath every Sunday. He also gave me some prednisone to give her to see if the itching is caused by allergies. She has improved so I'm not sure if it's the washing or the prednisone..maybe both. She is just so so so sweet. I'm getting real attached to her.

Alfred loves to play with stuff toys. He goes and gets one and then brings it back to my office and shakes it. This means he wants me to throw it. I then will chase him down and get it from him and throw it or play tug with him. He is so so sweet, too. I am so lucky that they fit right in here.

You know how you give the pugs a different nickname at times?? I've been calling Holly "Holly-Bolly" sometimes and the husband will call her Hollywood. Alfred sometimes I call him Allyfred and sometimes the husband calls him Big Man....just like we called Baxterman that a lot.

My MIL is in town and we are babysitting my SIL's two schnauzers while she is in the Florida Keys for three weeks. I've babysat several different doggies over the years and I have to say these two are the BIGGEST POUTERS I've ever seen. They would not eat their dinner from Thursday until Sunday evening. They stay up on the couch all the time. They just now have started coming around but don't want to have anything to do with the pugs. The first night here, they saw their mom leave out the front door and gate and that's where they stayed until the next day. It was so sad to see them so depressed. But their mom told me they might not eat for four or five days so it's not unusual for them when they get left home without their mom and dad. But they are good doggies and no problems.

Little Holly at the vet last week. That is Steve the vet tech holding her. He has an English bulldog that weighs 70 pounds at nine months old named Sumo.

Cowboy and Big Casino sent us this huge Bromeliad for keeping them over the Christmas holidays. It's so pretty and dramatic and big! I love to babysit and don't expect anything in payment because I just enjoy all the puggies that I babysit.

Here's the girl schnauzer sitting by the front door...her favorite place.

Here's boy schnauzer sitting on the couch, his favorite place.

oh, the look on those schnauzer's faces! LOL! I don't think my pugs would EVER give up eating! Winston has been having the same problem with his feet and it turned into a bacterial infection, so he's on antibiotics and a fungal spray! I love how you call her Hollywood.

I am not sure all of what Holly's ailments are but have you ever tried putting flax oil in her food? I know many people who's pugs have skin allergies but so far the girls have done great. I also give them food that doesn't have wheat in it as well.

It's funny you mentioned your dog sitting and how the dog's get depressed for a few days. My dads doberman was like that too. I can't imagine my pugs not eating when they are depressed. They are obsessed with food.. LOL

Woman had schnauzers growing up. She doesn't much care for them any more.

Hope Miss Holly gets a clean bill of health. She looks so small next to that vet ass't.
I had a schnauzer once. She was a high school graduation present. I named her "Ritches" and she lived to be about 11. She was a great little doggy.
