The girls like to sit in the sun in the mornings. Saturday I got my hair cut. This is the before picture on the length. Here is the after of the length. Not much difference. The girl that cuts my hair is now cutting hair from her home. The back of her garage has a nice roomy laundry room and she has a hairdresser's chair and sink and it's a nice setup. I like the privacy of going to her house. I don't feel like I have to get dressed up to go to a salon. Saturday afternoon, I ran out to the beach to pick something up. The sun shining on the water was so pretty.
Saturday night, I went to Magnolia Sun's husband's retirement party. Talk about good food! There was so much food there and it was all so good. The cake was good too. I really enjoyed visiting with everyone and it was so nice to see MS's parents. I had not seen them in several years. I enjoy seeing MS's husband's parents and sister, too. Now I wish I had brought some of that food home! She tried to get me to but I only took a piece of cake with me when I left.
Girlville is making festive banners for different holidays and seasons. I purchased one for St. Patrick's Day and one for Spring/Easter. I got them in the mail the other day and they are so pretty. Her work is great. I'm so glad she is offering these items for sale. I hope she puts up an Etsy store soon.
Here is what I call her signature wrapping...so pretty. The Spring/Easter festive banner. I wanted to show these banners and I put it on the china cabinet but I plan to hang this in my office/craft room where I can enjoy it every day. This is the St. Pat's banner. It has little pom poms on the tips of the banners. So very cute.
Thank you Girlville for the fun banners. Be sure to e-mail her if you are interested in purchasing some of her banners.
Yesterday Aunt Sue and I went with mama and daddy about 90 miles to the east to Panama City Beach. They would take us on vacation there when we were little. I don't think Aunt Sue was born yet when we would go there on vacation. It had been 40 years since mama and daddy had been down there but they still recognized some of the places. It's nice to see some of the old beach cottages still standing. But there are a lot of highrises now, too. It was a beautiful day and I wanted to share some pictures.
We ate lunch at Schooners on the beach and it was a pretty view and you could walk right down to the beach but we didn't like what we ordered...I wonder if Page has been here and what she thinks of the food. There was a parasail ride out back during lunch. I imagine it was pretty chilly up there in the air yesterday. I hope that person landed on the beach and not in the water because it was a bit cold. Our lunch yesterday. Stirfry shrimp and was way too salty.
Does anyone have a big green egg grill or know if they are worth the money?
Last Thursday Aunt Sue and rode over to Destin and went to a place called The Village of Baytowne Wharf. It was a pretty day. This place is a gated community with different subdivisions and condos and this placed that is called Baytowne Wharf where there are quite a few restaurants and shops, a few golf courses. It would be the ultimate place to retire. I told the husband that we should retire down there and he said it was not in our budget! I guess we'll stay put right where we are. We have a few more years before we retire, though.
Here are a few pictures from what we saw the other day.
This picture is for friends up North and out West in the snow...hey Punchy, hey Lisa...this is why people up North come South for the winter! This was yesterday over in Destin, Florida. Yesterday, Aunt Sue and I drove over to Destin and looked around. We ate lunch at Cheeseburger in Paradise. The lunch was not so good so we won't go back there. We treated ourselves to donuts at the Donut Hole. Two big fat donuts and a dozen donut holes were less than $2! These are called Vanilla Angels.
I have more pictures from yesterday to share and hopefully will put them up this weekend or Monday.
Our friends at Owned By Pugs gave Emma and Sugar a little gift of new ID tags. Emma's is a pink heart and Sugar's is a purple flower. On the back is their name and phone number and address. Thank you so much, Henry, Benny and Luna and their mom! I bought a collar for Emma in pink and Sugar's is blue. I have never made the pugs wear a collar. I just put their tags on their harness, but I thought it would be a good idea to have the collars and make them wear them when they are going anywhere in the car or to a doggy park. I got the collars from JH Doodle. I also got Emma a harness and it's pink. I think pink is her color. I'll get a picture of that soon.
I'm working on my deadlines and hopefully will have more time to take pictures and post later in the week.
Here are a couple of pictures that my daddy sent me of the mardi gras items that they caught some parades they went to over in Fairhope and Daphne, Alabama. They said that someone had the backboard to a basketball goal and held it up to knock the beads and things out of the air and down to themselves! I have never seen that. People use nets and umbrellas and things to catch the beads in the air. It's just crazy! I head or a lady holding up her walking cane to catch them! I'm staying out that craziness.
I came home from Wal-Mart and this is how she greets me...that screeching!

Emma's personality is coming out more and more. She still is not very vocal. At dinnertime, I try to have the camera ready so I can get a video of her barking (if that's what you want to call it). She was very bouncy yesterday.
I'm deep into work so I might not be posting much for the next few days....but you never know.
I didn't see too many front doors decorated this year for mardi gras...but I didn't get out much to get pictures. I did manage to get this picture. Magnolia Sun and I had lunch at the Cottage Cafe downtown. It was good. It's the same place I went with friends on Friday. This is the California wrap...no meat in it. Inside view of the restaurant. It's very small. Outside view. There are tables outside and today was a pretty day for that.
I rode with MS while she ran some errands and it was a good day. We went to the Navy base and I love going out there...it's so pretty...didn't see any guys in uniforms, though.
I love it when I find someone who hates them as much as I do...those devils. I live in fear of them.
Friday I went to lunch with Aunt Sue and two friends that I worked with at the courthouse. I have not seen these two friends in a year and it was really nice to visit with them. We went to a little restaurant next-door to the Pensacola Victorian Bed & Breakfast. The restaurant's name is The Cottage. I got a picture of the desserts that my friends ordered but I didn't get a picture of the food we ordered. It was good, too. I think Magnolia Sun and I will be going there soon. After lunch, I had to get home to finish up some work that I had. I was expecting more work but it fell through, which was fine with me for the weekend because I wanted a break for a day or so.
Saturday, one of the ladies I went to lunch with on Friday came over to fix my computer that was running low on hard disk space and being sluggish. She works in the IT department and knows so much about the workings of the computer. She spent 3 hours here and it was nice visiting with her while she cleaned up the computer like I don't know how! I took notes...so we'll see if I can do these things in the future.
After she left, the husband and I went over to his brother's house because the nephew and his wife and the twins were in town for a few days. Also, our niece who was recently engaged and her fiance were in town, too, to see her brother and SIL and her nephews. The twins are six months old now. It was so fun to see them and spend time with them. They were so good, too. Happy little guys. Their mom says they nap three times a day and sleep through the night for the most part. She has no complaints. The niece's engagement ring is so pretty and sparkling in person. They haven't started the plans other than maybe May of '09 for the wedding.
After we left there, I told the husband to go downtown to the seafood market so I could get some shrimp for Sunday dinner because the parents' were coming over to visit and meet Emma. We forgot about the mardi gras parade down there. We got stuck in the traffic. We ended up on a street where the floats that were finished in the parade had gone to park so I got a few pictures. I had my window down and we were stopped in a line of traffic and some mardi gras parader in a costume came up to my window when I wasn't looking and put his head almost in the car and said "HEY." I screamed. I was not expecting that. He was walking along drinking his beer... He apologized and then said, "It's Pensacola." Like that's supposed to okay for someone to stick their head in the car window when you're not looking...like if I was in New Orleans I should be scared and not here??
Sunday, Aunt Sue, mama and daddy came over and I fixed lunch...Destin Shrimp...it was really good and they all like it. Put that on sourdough bread. I made coleslaw and a artichoke/cheese pasta baked in the oven. I didn't take the first picture...I don't know why I didn't think about it.
I'm looking for a new pasta machine so that I can get back to the claying...I might be able to make a few things without the pasta machine. The one I want it a little expensive, so I might wait until next month's payday...so I might not be showing anything any time soon.
If Magnolia Sun and I get to lunch tomorrow, I'll be sure to take pictures!
Here are some floats we passed while stuck in traffic. This kid had a big trash bag full of mardi gras things that he caught from the parade. Me and little Andrew...and Beau the great dane! Beau weighs 170 pounds. He is so sweet. This is a video of William in the bouncy seat. These boys are so sweet.
30 Something sent a surprise to Emma and we got it today. Goodies from the doggy bakery and a toy. Sugar is enjoying the bakery treats too. They smell wonderful. I even took a "TINY" taste of the pizza one...it smelled so good..but it's not for me. But it smells like a real pizza. And the cute green toy will be enjoyed too. Thank you 30 Something! Here is the pizza one....smelled so good. This one looks like a piece of fudge or a brownie.
I work from home doing transcription for court reporters. I have four pugs and a sweet husband, a wonderful mama and daddy and the best sister in the world. I am so blessed. I love the Lord and give thanks to Him for each new day and all the grace He gives me.
